Dr. Stephen Funk is a graduate of University of Western States, receiving his doctorate of Chiropractic in 2013.
Born and raised in Abbotsford, Dr Funk has returned to his hometown to join Sumas Mtn. Sport & Spine and pursue a long-time goal of working in the community he was raised in.
Before attending chiropractic school in Portland, Oregon, Dr Funk completed his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology at University of the Fraser Valley in 2008 with a focus on exercise physiology and biomechanics. Dr Funk's approach to treatment emphasises both a multi-disciplinary treatment plan and patient education, the latter giving the patient the knowledge and tools to be an active participant in their treatment and recovery to optimum health.
As a former member of minor league sports in Abbotsford he is looking forward to getting involved in order to assist athletes with injury prevention through improved biomechanics, conditioning and rehabilitation as well as being involved in the community, volunteering at local events and activities.
